who has squid as a parent proxy working perfectly and enhancing the network peformance? i have installed one with a high spec machine (duo core, ram 1GB, HDD 160GB). which is better? having the clients configure the machines with proxy or having it as parent proxy on Mikrotik

RouterOS webproxy will save you time for installation, and you will have it in the same machine (no need for separate PC), but Squid could give you more control, if you need it.
