Providing Authentication from MK NOT from APs

Hello,

Is there any way to give the APs password from the Mikrotik Router?

Let me just simplify what I want :

I’ve one Mikrotik Router (( 2011 RB )), which is the main router with DHCP. This router is connected to switch and then to 7 access points ( TP Link and Rocket M2 )
The question is :

Can I make the AP open so they doesn’t require a password and let our Mikrotik 2011 provide the authentication. I want to make this so each time I want to change the password, I only change it one time in Mikrotik not accessing each access point and change it.

Please note that I don’t want to set up a hotspot page case I don’t like it :open_mouth: since it get disconnected after a while of inactivity, which I changed the Lease and cookies time also. :frowning:

Thank you ..

mac authentication maybe??

How if there is no hotspot ? and how the mac will pass the AP where there is security or do you mean that I don’t have to put the security on the AP ?

What about the capsman?

Thank you for your suggestion but still it doesn’t work ?!

Cause as I said I’ve TP-Link and Rocket M2 in the environment and I think that the capsman isn’t supported in the 2011 model of mikrotik as I didn’t see that before..

Waiting your other suggestion..

Thank you,

CAPsMAN is Mikrotik proprietary so won’t work with TP-Link and Ubiquiti APs. Apart from that, it’s ideal for the scenario you describe - not having to change passwords in more than one place.

If your unspecified APs and clients support enterprise auth then perhaps you could put Usermanager on the RB2011.

Thank you troffasky, but sorry what do you mean exactly by

? Or if there is any solution for this ?

Unfortunately, the clients doesn’t support enterprise authentication.

Thank you,

You can manage wireless settings on multiple Mikrotik APs with CAPsMAN, including the wireless key.
