Hi guys,
I’m monitoring several dozen tiks (not configured by me) with PRTG. I’ve set up the SNMP service on the tiks and PRTG can pick them up fine.
However, some tiks it can’t, PRTG suggests checking firewall rules, etc, which I’ve done, and the firewall rules look identical to the tiks that work ok.
SNMP settings are correct.
Any idea?
after enabling snmp reboot the device.
set [ find default=yes ] addresses=0.0.0.0/0 authentication-password=“”
authentication-protocol=MD5 encryption-password=“” encryption-protocol=DES
name=Something read-access=yes security=none write-access=no
/snmp
set contact=“” enabled=yes engine-id=“” location=“” trap-community=Something
trap-generators=“” trap-target=“” trap-version=2
paste this…
/snmp
set trap-target=0.0.0.0
/snmp community
set [find default=yes] name=[get [find default=yes] name]
Damn, was really optimistic then. No, didn’t work
It has to be a firewall thing don’t you think?
I hope you have alrady checked that…
Checked it with a fine toothed comb.
There is no difference between the tiks that do work with PRTG and those that don’t
But I can’t think of what else it could be
At this point, if RouterOS version is the same, I do not know what think…
