ptmp routing setup question

Continuing to expand my knowledge here. Here is what I have so far and my question:

su on 5ghz (back haul w/eth1 at 192.168.1.2) 411 board connected to internet gateway(192.168.1.1)

wireless linked to:

433 board with: (192.168.1.3 on eth1, not using eth2 or eth3 as I am assuming bridge1 will pass traffic across the two radio cards without me having to go out to a switch and back???)
ap on 5ghz connected to the above (back haul). It has the above unit’s ip address setup as the gateway. Also bridge1
ap on 900mhz, bridge1 (I can plug into eth1 at this point and surf the net so I believe my routing is good to the eth1 on the board)

wireless linked to:

411 board su with: (192.168.1.4)
900mhz card, bridge1 (I can’t surf.)

I have tried putting the ip of the su connected to the internet (192.168.1.1) as the gateway with destination 0.0.0.0 but no luck.
wds is set at both 900 ends as dynamic and set to bridge1. 900 radios are registered and allowing dhcp all the way through to my laptop connected to eth1(192.168.1.4). I can not ping out from the 900su from my laptop connected to eth1.

I’m unsure of how to use the ‘nexthop’ features. I was thinking I could setup a destination and gateway at the su of 0.0.0.0/0 and 192.168.1.3. then at the ap setup 0.0.0.0/0 and 192.168.1.2. (hop from su to ap to bh???) What should I change the gateway interface to in this case assuming I am on the right track?

What must I do to allow the 900mhz su to properly find the gateway and allow internet traffic?

It’s a pretty broad question I know. I’ll try to dial it in more as I work through the issue in the coming days.

Many thanks in advance for any help as I continue to learn.

Ok I tried another scenario:

gateway (.1) connected to su(5.8ghz) eth1, .2, is connected to gateway, bridge1

wireless linked to ap1(5.8ghz), bridge1
also on the same board is ap2(900mhz), bridge1
(eth1 is .3)

wireless link to su(900mhz), bridge1, eth1 is .4

I can pass traffic through eth1 on at the ap by plugging in and receiving dhcp. ap routes traffic back to .2 ( I suspect my problem is here. what should the gateway interface be specified as? IE only works when I am connected on eth1 at the ap and not via eth1 at su(900))

I can’t pass traffic through eth1 at su(900mhz).

I have tried specifying routes to the ap in the su(900mhz). comes back unreachable when I put in .2. I also tried putting in .3 (eth1) on the ap to see if it was reachable knowing it wasn’t connected to anything more than the poe but it also comes back unreachable.

I don’t know why I can have a registered radio but get unreachable eth1 on the ap. Somewhere traffic isn’t crossing from the 900ap to the 5.8ap card which I need it to do to be able to find the gateway.

I hope my learning process is becoming clearer. I have not tried swapping the 5.8 ap and 5.8 su cards to as to have the 433 board have a 900ap and 5.8su looking out to 5.8ap for back haul.

Any insight is greatly appreciated at this point.

Found it.

the issue was the 900su was set to station and not on station wds.

Now for beer.
