Hello Everyone, I’m working on a PtMP with this equipments
One MANTBOX 15s built in CPU RB921 Router OS v6.38 L4
and TWO ROUTERBOARD SXT LITE5 built in CPU AR9344 Router OS v6.38 L3
Equipments are working on a bridge mode one main wireless interface and two Virtual Wireless Client1 and Client2 protocol in use is NSTREME.
I’m facing two issues:
1- I’m unable to build two segregated main wireless interfaces, this based on my experience makes both clients to share the bandwhith.
For this issue I need to understand if there is a way to build two segregated wireless interfaces in the above mentioned hardware or if there is a way to improve the bandwhith given that the main equipment can handle almost 1Gbps.
2- I’m unable to segregate both clients on a diferent VLAN. Only main untagged VLAN on the MANTBOX is transmited and the other vlan is not. If I add an interface to the VLAN on the MANTBOX I can Ping it but it does not transmit to the ethernet.
I’m questioning if VLAN tagging does work on this environment. I’ll appreciate any help.
A thir issue which I’m not sure is related to the scenario is that I’m unable to build a switch on the MANTBOX but I’m able to build it on the SXT client.
I’m also adding a picture of the network enginering to make it mor understandable.

So it´s been a few weeks and I’m still trying to figure out the best way to bring two different Vlans on a PtMP configuration using Mantbox and SXT Lite Clients. Anyone with a tip on how to make the multi vlan scenario work on the mantbox?
Since your base station uses a single radio, your clients will share the bandwidth anyway and you would need rts/cts hw protection mode to arbitrate the access.

I’m still trying to figure out the VLAN issue, I’ve set up an indoor lab and will try some configuration this week. I’ll post any results back to this forum. If anyone has an advice on vlan management on the mantbox I’ll appreciate it.

I would setup 3 Vlans. 1 vlan native for management of your switches and wireless devices and the additional 2 vlans for each site. As you are passing the vlans from your cisco router you will most likely need to run policy based routing to prevent the vlans from routing between each other.

Thank you for your reply, I tried the configuration but clients are on a level 3 license which does not allow to have multiple links (or vlans in this case), I’m having issues with the vlan configuration on the LAN connection of the mantbox and I cant figure out how to correctly set up the ethernet port to forward the tagged vlans.
As native Vlan is VLAN 4 you do not need to add anything for that. You then add a vlan in interfaces for
vlan 9 and put the interface of this vlan as the ethernet interface.
Solved the issue! I was not designating correctly the tagging on the AP and incorrectly configuring the client. I’ve attached two pictures with the configuration I build on my lab. Thanks to everyone who joined the conversation.
