Ptp Nv2/WDS DataRates 270Mbps slow internet

Hi all,
i have ptp mikrotik 5.24 in NV2+Wds
RB:433ah
AP MODE : BRIDGE
STATION: STATION WDS
CCQ: 89%/90%
DISTANCE 12KM
DATARATES 240Mbps/240Mbps

My problems:

  1. Btest from ap to station: 80mbps tcp/send and 80mbps/recive
    I was expecting something more…

  2. All connection to internet is very slow max 20mbps, but i tested in each point in my network ,and traffic over ptp it slows down.
i think problem over fragmetation…but i think problem with compatibility nv2 and wds.
I tried bandwidth test from station to edgerouter with internet and result 70mbps/80mbps
    suggestions?

can you post the PTP co-ordinates? or if you have the terrain plotted already…the image of the terrain.

are you sure you have a clear fresnel zone?

Yes clear fresnel zone

are you passing the traffic over a switch? or is it directly connected to independent machines on both sides???

edgerouter->ptp mikortik → switch

cannot comment about edgerouter… as i suppose it belongs to UBNT and i don’t speak UBNT language

please check with the router end settings… else i would suggest you to plug two laptops directly at the PTP link termination ends and transfer a file or use IPERF ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/iperf/ ) to test the actual throughput…

Hi
What bandwith you can get on that link with UDP test?
Try to make a test with only one TCP session. I think that for CCQ like you have on your link, you have many errors in wireless connection.
What else you can do:

  • try to find another channel. Maybe with diferent frequency you can gat better results.
  • if you want to check wireless parameters, configure your link with 802.11 and check in registration statistics if there is a diference between TX/RX Frames and Packets.
  • configure your link for AP-bridge Station-bridge, without WDS
  • lower your data-rates to MCS-12 and check if there is less errors than with 240Mbps
  • tune your tx-power parameter. Maybe you have to increase power of your wifi card.

Hi czolo,
Bandwidth test send udp 98Mbps and in recivce 96mbps;

new information.
In ap-bridge registration signal of station
all channel averge signal -62db

In station registrazion of ap bridge
all channel averge signal -62db but one 48mbps is -85db

I think I found the problem.
During the installation of antennas have been inverted channels(chain0,chain1)

possible cause?

Yes, if You have such big difference between chain 0/1, you can try to set it another way.
I hope it will help. Both chains should have similar signals.

And how it looks with TCP and one session test?

Hi ,
both chain have similar signal -66

tcp session in bandwidtest mikrotik edgerouter/station : 70mbps/recive 50mbps/send

Tried check connection with speedtest connection is 50mbps upload and 5mbps download.
and tried download file iso in server in my network download 50mbps, but connected directaly eddge router download 100mbps / upload100mbps

problems is traffic internet over this bridge.

so a bottle neck at the internet gateway?? is it??

yes,
but only when traffic passes through the ptp.
I tried connected directaly to edgerouter(gateway) and it’s ok.

I test now.
My edgeroute upload it’s ok and stable, download start good and go down, expamle: start 100mbps …to 10mbps.

Ip fragmentation ?

Why use WDS?
5.24 supports does bridging. The station should be set to Sation Bridge.
