PTP SXT 5HnD or Powerstation 5?

For a link of about 15KM, which is better SXT or PS5.

Heard that PS5 can only handle a working 2Mbits reliable and anything over that will somehow die in the air.

now what about SXT?

thnx

i dont think the SXT inbuilt ANTENNA 16dbi is sufficient for 15 km link. I tried but had no signal.

I am using a 711 with 30 dbi grids on both ends and getting 12 mbps UDP for a 16 km link.
If u want more u can go for 433ah with dbii f50 and grids

try this setup. It will work better than Powerstation.

I don’t think using a dish will grant me any help since the SXT will be mounted on a tower very high on the tip.

now what about using SXT within city towers for ptp connection? if it was used within 2-5 KM what bandwidth max throughput can I get? do you guys think I can get more than 2 meg?

for 2-5 km u can get more than 2 mbps with ease. keep the LOS clear. The sxt has a very narrow beamwidth

with NV2 we could achieve 100MBps up and 100MBps down (basically ethernet port maxed) with SXT

i have very clear LOS but i cannot exceed more than 14 mbps even with NV2.
Signal = -73/-74
CCQ = 89/35( why is the RX CCQ low?)

I have seen CCQ % get better with load. Is it because my link has lesser RX load so poor CCQ. At more load it might get better??
NV2 is still a complex case for me. Sometimes i loose signal if I change to NV2 for some long distance links

The point of the dish is to narrow the beam width, which in turn should increase your signal (and distance). The July Mikrotik newsletter has a very nice reflector designed for the SXT in it: http://www.mikrotik.com/download/share/News_32.pdf
