I can not understand this behaviour.
I have a USB LTE dongle k5160
Plugging this dongle in the old router, I always get a public IP
At the same, in a Windows 10 laptop, even without specific drivers, and using the proper APN, I get a public IP.
Why on the RB5009 I get always private IP?
In this moment I get looking at the IP–> addresses
192.168.9.100/24
Am i missing something?
It seems that in some way the USB dongle is natting…
any suggestion to change the behaviour of this dongle?

I noticed the passthrough among the several options.
I can not understand how should i configure and how it works.
On Windows and older crappy routers was just a matter to plug and go while on the RB5009 it work very well, apparently, since in the address list I just see a strange private IP

looking at the several options around the LTE… I found this one
LTE → MODE → SERIAL or MBIM or auto
it was auto and I set MBIM, do not know the meaning… just tried and… WOW… now the public IP is on the LTE interface
MBIM stands for “Mobile Broadband Interface Model” look it up on Google for a detailed explanation.
