PUBLIC IP

Hi! I am new on networking. I always hear about Public Ip, and I’d like to ask some questions on this issue.

  1. I have got only 1 Public Ip from my ISP. I need another Public Ip to build another proxy server. Where could I buy it?

  2. Could I use the Public Ip which comes from a Domain Name to build the proxy server?

Thank you.

Contact the ISP, where you get the Internet connection for more public IP addresses.

I am connected to an ASDL connection. It does not support supplying clients for additional Public IPs.

Supposing I’ve got another Public IP from another ISP (the different ISP) … could I use the new Public Ip connected to my ASDL connection?

(sorry for my bad English … )

not really recommended and possibly not supported by the other isp.
if you have a static ip it might be possible to route a subnet or even a single ip to your static ip, but even this is rarely supported by the most isps.

the best and simplest would be getting your isp to route you a subnet like a /29 to your dsl-connection. this will cost you a bit but is practically the only and best option.
