installed mikrotik OS 5.4 on x86 PC - used trial period to configure and purchase a license - i have the license now but it seems i forgot to turn off the computer to save some hours.
please help.
I’ve tried to install From CD - and select the “Save Configuration” option - but it still wants to format
I’m afraid i may loose the license if i format.
It says in the Wiki http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:License_levels#Can_I_Format_or_Re-Flash_the_drive.3F that if you reformat with non-Mikrotik tools that it will destroy the license. Reinstallation with the MikroTik CD would seem to be a MikroTik tool.
That being said. I believe that you can log in locally (like with a monitor and keyboard) to your installation after the timer has expired and manually type the license key, thought it’ll surely be a pain.

I’ll consider reinstalling with the Mikrotik CD as a last resort.
About what you said concerning login after license has expired?
It’s IMPOSSIBLE on x86: because the system immediately shuts down at Boot.
