Can somebody please let me know if their Purevpn over PPTP on Mikrotik router is working ok?
I’ve had it set up for nearly two years according to Purevpn’s guide (link) and it worked fine until middle of August. Then it suddently stopped working and none of my devices could access internet anymore. I’ve checked the settings on my router, everything seems fine.
I’ve raised a ticket with Purevpn after which they connected remotely to my PC and they tried to make it work via Winbox. They used one of their own vpn account credentials but they haven’t had any success to make PPTP on my router work and said the issue is on their server, more specifically the authentication requests from Mikrotik routers fails on their servers. BTW, when I used their windows software/app it connected fine via PPTP so ISP (BT) blocking is ruled out (initially they said this might have been the cause). Plus I live in the UK, not in China or North Korea, vpn blocking is extremely unlikely here.
They said they will work on the fix, that was about three weeks ago. I’ve contacted them for an update today and they said they will do another remote session on Monday 27th October.
I just want to check if anyone else has the same issue with Purevpn as me, I find it hard to believe I am the only Purevpn user with Mikrotik router combination in the world but I don’t see anybody else raising the issue here (or anywhere else).
