Hello,
short question:
I have devices in my company, which I would like to manage from our NetworkManagementCenter.
The Management-Software communicate with the devices via a MAC-based proprietary protocol.
So we have through our infrastructure some EoIP-Tunnels.
When we put the ethernet-port via VLAN and EoIP to the management, the systems works perfekt, but we have some other issues.
We only want to have the management in the VLAN/EoIP-enviroment, the normal IP-Traffic should pass through the normal network.
As I have seen, we can use the switch rules to mark a mac-adress-range with a new VLAN-ID.
BUT: Correspondig to the chip-features table @Mikrotik-Wiki my 2011 and 1100AHx2 should be able to set the VLAN-ID based on MAC-Adressrange. >> 2011AHx2 accept the config >> 2011L says “… NEW-VLAN-ID not suported…” We have few 2011L on the field, we can not change the whole infrastructure.
Any idea about this topic?? >> same switch-chip in both devices.
Thanks a lot
