Hi guys,
Today I received my all singing, dancing new router and I have a few questions/problems to ask. The main one is that as it has a microSD card slot, I’ve installed a nice new endurance 8GB microSD card into its slot. Now I have formatted it as ext3 which should be better then fat32 and it sees it as disk1 like you would expect. Now what I can’t get my head around is that I am trying to save backup configs to it but they keep refusing to save on it. I have been trying to do this though winbox under the FILES button and clicking on backup. Now where ever I select i.e the disk1 (which is the microSD) the configs keeps saving directly to the heavily limited flash.
I am pretty sure there must be something I have missed or not understood, so if someone could be so kind to give me a rough location to check in winbox or the CLI equivalent, I would be extremely grateful.
p.s I am a linux man by trade so I would prefer the CLI ![]()
Anyway as a summery heres what I am trying to achieve and a recap on what I have done:
Task: To save existing/old configs to microSD (mounted as disk1) and not the internal flash.
What I have done so far: formatted microSD via winbox, mounted as disk1, tried going to files/backup config with disk1 selected and it doesn’t save where I would assume it should do i.e. where the cursor is.
If anyone has an idea what silly thing I am doing wrong, I would love to hear from you.
Also on a similar note, I would also like to save the logs (syslog, graphs etc) also to the sdcard as its much easier to replace that when it dies then the internal flash lol.
Thank you in advance,
Kind Regards & Merry Christmas to you all,
Thanks for reading.
