QoS DSCP for Audio Network (Q-SYS / Q-LAN / Dante)

Hello guys,

I’m coming from the AV side, trying to learn networking basics (and beyond) and finding the right products.

I already read every post I could find about Dante, QoS DSCP and audio networking, but it left me confused. So my question is:
Do MiktroTiks (Switches/Routers) prioritize network traffic based on the DSCP marking?

I don’t necessarily have to change or map the values. The switch just has to “Trust” (that’s how e.g. Netgear and I believe Cisco calls it) the DSCP values transmitted by the Q-SYS or Dante devices and therefore prioritize that traffic.
DSCP Values used in a mixed (Q-SYS and Dante) installation are:
56 - CS7 - PTPv2
46 - EF - Audio
26 - AF31 - Video

Since I already got in contact with two MikroTik routers and liked the experience (to me, the WinBox GUI seems more logical and understandable then e.g. Netgear’s web interface ((I’m looking forward, to start using CLI instead))) I would like to use these in my AV installations, but want to be sure, they fit.

Thanks!
Best regards,
Robin

This is possible on Mikrotik devices where the switch ASIC supports DSCP to PCP mapping (CRS3xx and upwards)
