i’ve tried many ways to Vlan this device and its not working. is there some kind of switch limitation on this device? I can make bridges but no switch. I have vlans working on all my other devices but this one. Im using netgear S3300

Isn’t possible that qrt doesn’t have any switch? 
Use CPU bridge in stead.
Create bridge1, bridge2, etc - (or name them brVlan10 brVlan20 brVlan101 etc)
Create vlan interfaces on ether1: ether1.v10 , ether1.v20 , ether1.v101
If the routerboard needs to have an IP address in those vlans, add the address to the brVlanX interfaces.
Create the VAPs.
In the bridge > ports menu, add ether1.v10 and vap10 to the bridge brVlan10
Repeat this for vlan20 and vlan101
Then enjoy a coffee. You’re done.
