Would it be possible to include in the specs and brochures of QSFP & SFP28 missing information?
These would include:
- what type of fiber count particular module requires
- what fiber strands are required on the MTP/MTPO connector and exact drawing of the order of fibers used
- is it UPC/APC type of connector
- OM? specifications required
- what type of optical protocols module uses SR4/LR4/WDM…
- tested / confirmed compatibility with other brands of networking devices and server/client devices optical modules
(this to the extent possible, can be listed in compatibility sheet with lots of expected asterisks of course) - similarly list compatibility of other brands of SFP/QSFP/SFP28/XQ modules and DAC cables that should be compatible with (electrical side) of the Mikrotik equipment Q/SFP ports
Goal would be to take the guess out of planning network infrastructure and delays on implementation.
Some data is listed, but overall I am always left wondering if something should work or not, let alone will it work reliably in the end.
