I’m having a problem with multiple devices having disconnects and requiring our router to power off the modem to reboot to bring connection back up. Carrier is T-Mobile in each case.
Carrier: T-Mobile
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
Modem: Quectel RM520N-GL
Modem Firmware: RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G
RouterOS: Mikrotik RouterOS 7.15.3
Model: RBM33G
FW version: 7.15.3
RSRP is -94 and SINR is 16 and RSRQ is -11.
Connects to Band n41 and speeds are good.
When this issue occurs, the LTE interface loses connectivity. I logging in a script to query the modem and get the status. When this disconnects, there is a message showing the lte1 interface “status” field changes from “connected” to “deregistered”
The signal level is not very high but also not near a potential disconnect level. Do you have any ideas on why this is going to “deregistered” status or what triggers that to happen?
***Update: I think the “deregistered” status just occurs when the LTE recently went down and is not a reason but just the state of the radio. ***
