Question about DAT cable maximum length.

Hello all networking guru! I have a two mikrotik devices (CRS226-24G-2S+RM and new CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+PC) These devices are separated between two racks. Distance between racks is about 3m. I know about native mikrotik 3m DAT cable, but how about OEM cables? I’m googling a 5m, 7m and even 10m cable… Are they works with devices?

Thanks, Dmitry…

not DAT, but DAC  (direct attach cable)

When in doubt, get optical SFPs and a fiber of sufficient length.
Especially when “between racks”.

Sure, misstyped.

I know about optic, definitely. 10Gbs optic is too expensive. There are a couple of long length DAC’s in the market, this quetion was about them.

I believe 10g optics and a piece of fiber are cheaper than a 10 meter (active) DAC cable…

+1

Wouldn’t waste my time with a DAC either.
