Question about EC25-EU vs Global version (Band 5 support) on KNOT LTE4

Hello,

I purchased a KNOT Embedded LTE4 (EC25-EU version) about a week ago.
It now appears that a Global version has been released today.

The main difference in my case is Band 5 support. The EC25-EU version does not support Band 5.

According to my ISP uses Band 5 mainly as a secondary band for Carrier Aggregation (CA).
However, as far as I understand, the KNOT LTE4 (Cat4) does not support CA.

In this case, would the lack of Band 5 significantly affect LTE speed?

I live in a city apartment (3rd floor, not underground). From what I have found through online research, Band 5 is mostly used as a secondary CA band, so if other primary bands (such as Band 1, 3, or 7) are available, performance should not be significantly impacted.

Since the KNOT LTE4 does not support CA, I assume it will connect to only one band (1, 3, or 7). Therefore, Band 5 may rarely be selected in my environment. Is my understanding correct?

I understand that the situation could be different in rural or weak-signal areas.

I am considering whether I should replace the EC25-EU version with the Global version. However, if there is no meaningful speed difference in practice, I would prefer not to spend extra time and money unnecessarily.

I would appreciate your advice.

Thank you.

I decided not to buy it because I didn't think there would be any difference.
