Question about flashfig

Quick question regarding flashfig:

Does the flashfig file replace the built-in default configuration, or is it executed after the default configuration?

Flashfig configuration becomes default configuration, which is reloaded after /system reset-configuration. Yes, default one is replaced with flashfig config.

Hello sergejs

I have been testing around and the flashfig does not replace the default configuration on my router (RB750 with RouterOS 4.11). It does run correctly, but /system default-configuration print shows the standard config and /system reset-configuration does not load my flashfig.

I have tested 5.0beta6 and the behaviour is the same.

Do I have to do anything special to install the flashfig file permanently?

Thank you,
anthony

dataway, I’m sorry for the previous post, I was using information from old documentation.
Flashfig is applied during the flashfig and /system reset-configuration is returning back default configuration with 192.168.88.1 IP address at Ether1 port. It helps users, who are not satisfied with provided Flashfig configuration (added before the purchase for example).

So, your explained behavior is correct.
