I see that RB1200 have 10 gig ports and I am just wondering if I can use this RB to do load balancing on nine ports and then have the tenth port as lan port?
It depends on what exactly you mean by load balancing. You can’t use it to bundle 9 links via 802.3ad into a 9Gbps link. You can definitely use it to run PCC between 9 ADSL lines at 6Mbps down each.
Can you give more details on what you’re trying to do?
well see frontier offers 7meg but its really 6 to 6.5 meg download and I need to bond 8 dsl lines together to get upto 50meg for my bandwidth for my wisp.
I didnt know if RB1200 can do this with outgoing out and buying 7k peplink router.
fyi frontier dont do MLPPP setups.
Well you can’t exactly bond them together. Meaning that if you do a speedtest you won’t get 50mbps, you only get 6. You can do load balancing though so that all of the links get used equally and you can have a total throughput of 50mbps. So as long as you’re not going to offer anything higher than 6mbps, I don’t see where it would be a problem.
