Hello,
Here is what I have for my home network.
#1 WAN to ISP. CAPSMAN host.
#2 switch only.
#3 switch only.
#4~#6 wireless APs managed by CAPSMAN

I am thinking about adding another hAP ax². However, it only came with V7. Will it still managed by current CAPSMAN?
Do they all need to upgrade to V7? Thanks in advance.

You can manage them with same capsman but controller needs to be upgraded to v7 (use normal upgrade path since you need to take quite some steps to get there).
Since you did not specify which device is acting as controller, be aware that device needs to have wireless package installed as well for controlling legacy wifi devices (2 separate capsman controllers on the same controller). And then local storage may become a problem (typically on devices only have 16Mb storage it can get tricky).
Capsman for wifiwave2 device (ax2) will be present by default as of 7.13.
But … if that controller is also a wifi device, you will loose its radios since 2 wireless environments will be present then.

HOWEVER:
since you’re only talking about 1 AX2, why not simply configure that one device locally as a plain AP, outside capsman ?
Much easier for now and then you do not need to touch your current setup.
Side note: I see 3 devices which may have to be upgrade to latest ROS6 version …
Thanks for the reply. The CAPsMAN is currently on RB450GX4 which I mentioned as CAPsMAN host. You are right about the 16MB storage problem. The one with older versions are with 16MB storage. They can’t do the upgrade from WinBox though.
I will probably do you’ve suggested. Just use AX2 device alone to avoid all the trouble.
