Hi to all ! I am new Mikrotik user and got some question about VPN access in quick set wizzard (using winbox)
Yesterday I checked VPN Access checkbox so I could remotely access my router securely (or so I thought )and peddle around and see what is in this Mikrotik RB! I bought RB750 model!
So, when I saw that link underneath, labeled vpn address I thought it is some kinda “magic link” that is connecting me to my box. Today I m looking at logs, and I see that when I turned on vpn access, it automaticly do something in background.
So I realized someone established tcp connection. I didnt made any firewall rules (yet to learn how to secure myself) so I dont know what threat can I expect when that connection occur. (what can he do? )
these are only logs refering to outside connections:
04:20:51 l2tp,info first L2TP UDP packet received from 123.151.42.61
14:23:21 pptp,info TCP connection established from 123.151.42.61
My question is does anyone using that link ( mine is 467a********.sn.mynetname.net) and how to use it properly…
And what is the best way to connect remotely so I can use graphic interface ( It s way to early for console ).
