Hello Mikrotik users,
I recently upgraded a few of the Mikrotiks I manage for friends (SOHO use) to v6.22 and I am trying to enable the VPN Access feature but it will not apply the change. I have tried making sure the IP service www-ssl was enabled before I enabled the feature just to be sure, it does create the firewall rules for remote access just fine but in the quickset it won’t stay applied and the domain does not resolve. I also made sure IP>Cloud was enabled because I was under the impression it was required for DDNS. (although all of the IP’s are static on these routers)
I have seen things like this in quickset before. Once when quick-set was new (or at least I had not used it yet) I was setting up a router “manually” and settings would not take because they were not enabled via the QuickSet menu. I thought the same thing might be happening here but I don’t see where you can manage this dynamic hostname VPN feature outside of QuickSet.
Out of 4 boxes only one took the config. I have:
an RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN (Is not applying the VPN feature)
an RB951G-2HnD (is not applying the VPN feature)
an RB951-2N (is not applying the VPN feature)
and an RB750G which did accept the changes.
The configs are not identical but are nearly so. Other than different hardware I can’t pinpoint what was different about the 750G (they are all running 6.22)
Any Thoughts? I didn’t see a bug reported and since I can’t reproduce this on all of my boxes i’m not ready to call it a bug.
