As I have much read about 802.11n competion, seems it doesnt provide stability with jitter/ping and speed.
At the moment I have one link running 30/30mbps, wds bridge:
RB333-R5H-----------R5H-R433AH
I believe 30mbps becouse of RB333 processor, should be somewhere around 60mbps.
Distance is low about 1km
At my point of view Dual-nstream 802.11a (5ghz-turbo) for example 2xR5H cards should run smoother and better than N-draft link.
Have anyone compared Dual-nstream 5ghz-turbo and 802.11n with single card but 2x antennas on both side?
I do have at the moment DBii networks 5ghz cards, that i will try to put on P2P dual-nstream 802.11a link with pair of R5H to compare. RX on R5H other TX DBii cards. What should i say, quality of DBii card is high, even when you hold it in hands, something tells you, there good
Something tellsme it’s better way to achieve stability and good jitter.
I also do believe that nstreme with ordinary 11a turbo would give better results. Too bad I was unsuccessful setting up link bonding in bridged WDS mode. Ended up using single 11a-turbo link, which provides up to 70mbps one way TCP. Used 433AH & R5H cards.

1.Dual Nstreme 11a turbo = 60Mbs/60mbs (if traffic reach it maximum ping is going to triple cypher - 100-150ms).
2.1x R5h with two antennas with NV2 and wds = 75/75 (if traffic reach it maximum ping max is 15ms).
1 and 2 are this same link, nstreme was “upgraded” to N+NV2
MT are X86.
Before I had 802.11n with nstreme but in clearer area = 100/100Mbs, in half duplex was 130Mbs.
I feel you have some problems with setup of antennas in case of ping 150ms…
for example cables, antenna position (not crossover as from point A tx rx ; B rx tx i mean direction up-down.. or what ever…)
In dual nstream we have FULL-duplex (no packet loss etc) just with one card - half duplex, could be ~2% loss not very good for uplink from ISP.. also for skype etc..
NV2 should also be available on DUAL it could be good then.. if ~75x2 /75x2 total amount could be
Do you have found bugs in ros5? i guess i cannot risk to put beta version on backhaul link
You are not doing bonding are you? The bonding for all those who do not reallize gives you failover if one of the four radios dies, killing one link. All traffic will switch over to the remaining wireless link.
I’m using 2 pcs Nstream Dual links. (Hardware: 433AH + 2x XR-5 on both side.)
One of this is 10,8km long, the other is 8km. Both have cca 70-75Mbit troughput HDX, 40-45Mbit FDX! (sometimes 80Mbit HDX!!!)
Depending on Noise floor, etc…
I have tested the R52Hn cards on the desk. (last week)
The troughput is 90-96Mbit with 433AH’s and single chain . (the ETH is 100Mbit FDX only!) So I plan to change the cards in my Nstream2 links!
Next thursday I"ll install a 5km link to get more experience about the R52Hn cards trougput (on the real rough field)!
