OK…
I have what appears to be a damaged 532… Ether1 is inop.
I can still use it for what I need, but the RouterOS has been removed (NAND formatted)..
I seems that the PXE boot works only from ether1…
I cant install MIPS (LE) to a CF… (Net Install wont let me)
Any ideas ???
It is not possible to boot RouterOS from CF on RB532.
In case Ethernet 1 port is damaged and you do not have RouterOS, there is no ways to get RouterOS on this board.
You can repair it and then reinstall RouterOS.
Oh well… Prob one for the scrap heap…
I wil take a look at the resisters and the transformer (isolation) on ether1 and see… but if they are good then the PHY chip is prob dead and I am not going to waste my time hauling out the old surface mount kits to change it out… My eyes arrent what they used to be…
Picked it up second hand to use as a “cheap” dude probe… (Live and learn)…
