We’re using pairs of R11e-2HnD for video streaming between two embedded devices. Both devices use ath9k driver, as the cards are AR9580 based.
We’ve found out that RX diversity is not working.
While setting RX chainmask to 0x3, it seems that only the chain1 is disturbed when masking the antenna.
While setting RX chainmask to 0x1, only chain0 is disturbed by masking.
While setting RX chainmask to 0x2, only chain1 is disturbed by masking.
We were expecting that MIMO would be working right away, but it seems not. This phenomenon has been observed both in STA mode and in monitor mode.
TX diversity seems to work well.
The thing is, the same phenomenon has been observed with a pair of AR9280 (UBQT SR71-E for what it’s worth), but only in 2.4Ghz… so my best guess is that it might be driver-related, somehow. But still, maybe somebody has experienced the same problem, so I’m still asking.
Is that would be a known issue ?
