I updated the MikroTik router to the latest RouterOs to version 7.2.3 the LTE is no longer connecting and i’m presented with several “blocks” that I cannot seem to understand to get the router working:
a) On the quick setup page, when i opt to check for an update the error is: ERROR: could not resolve DNS name. On the LTE settings, same as b below.
b) Interface: LTE: a new version exists, but clicking Upgrade result in : Couldnt Start - Device must be in running state; The firmware version is MikroTik_CP_2.160.000_v012
Searching the forums for these errors are not too helpful as it seems to be different causes that results in the same error.
Ps - I am also a beginner as the Forum suggests, sometimes the pro’s reply with a lot of technical instructions, please try and be specific?
It seems that you have read the forum,
so you should know that you have to provide details and that you are initially asked how the device is configured.
You have not provided the rest of the details and the configuration, other than the name of the LTE module and the version of RouterOS.
Hmm, new RouterOS v7 for some lte modems say not true about firmware version. Your 012 version is old and yes they are a newer version and to do a firmware upgrade you must first connect it to internet to do it, by lte itself !.
Please not give us a QuickSet. If you not familiar with Terminal and export command then please read a documentation at https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/LTE .
First do a connection with proper APN, uncheck the “Use Network APN” and get infernet from LTE first.
Next step will be to do a firmware upgrade. Not all stuff at ones.
Mikrotik RBD53GR-5HacD2HnD, updated to latest modem firmware first (Router firmware was 6.49.4).
Then upgraded router to 7.4.1.
Now LTE not working.
Thinking of Netinstall to 6.49.6…
Modem is appearing for a seconds, then disappear.
