R11e-LTE-US issue in RBM33G

Submitted to support@mikrotik.com, but hoping (unfortunately) maybe somebody else has encountered similar issues.

I'm having problems getting the R11e-LTE-US in my RBM33G to stay registered on the cell network for more than a sec, it gets kicked off as soon as it registers. None of my sims work, but they do in the other wAP LTE I have (currently on 6.44.3 but hesitant to upgrade) and also in a USB Sierra MC7700 on my hex S (running 6.46.4).

I upgraded the RBM33G to latest 6.46.4 when started out, reset config, but trying to run at-commands return ERROR or modem not ready. I can't upgrade the firmware on the LTE card because it doesn't stay registered for more than a sec. Is there another way to update it? Is there a compatibility problem?

but the R11e-LTE and R11e-LTE-US must be upgrade only by itself lte1 connection with internet.

Other SIM, other ISP, set 3G only ?

I have not any clue for you. I hope support give you response.

Yes i have same issue with R11e-LTE (non US version). It was working for like approx. 1 year and started to do stuff you posted. I can manage to establish LTE connection for some period of time by disabling lte1 interface, then rebooting RBM33G, after it comes up i wait little bit and then enable lte1 interface and it’s working, but will drop in a while, sometimes minutes, sometimes days. I managed to upgrade R11e-LTE fw to the latest one (v015 if im correct), but no change.

Mikrotik support sent me firmware downloader which failed and they told me my card was bricked.

Hmm that’s unfortunate, i hoped you have a solution already from them. Not sure what to do, i tried also downgrade ROS version (multiple different ones), but no luck. I will probably get another r11e-lte and this one i will send to them, they can do … stick it on the fridge or whatever… I really like mikrotik, just if it would be working.
.

if you must buy the r11e-lte or r11e-lte6 then cheaper and works better is EP06-e, my last howto is here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/quectel-ep06-e-and-wap-r-ac-rbwapgr-5hacd2hnd/131724/10
Or just wait to next generation of modules base at eg12/eg16 … and we don’t have idea when it’s be

Thank you SiB for the tip, i just ordered it on ebay. It’s not exactly cheaper then r11e-lte (67.-Eur here in Slovakia) vs EP06-E (75$ on ebay) however i would like something which is actually working so yeah, lets give it a try. Mikrotik got a chance, now it’s up to China.

Thanks for this. Finally I updated the firmware of my R11e-LTE-US using my RBM33G. First updated from ROS 6.45 to ROS 6.46.6 and works perfect. Tomorrow I will to migrate my interfaces to LtAP and I will buy a new SIM card to test if my interface will run.
