R52 in laptop

Dumb question but can I put a R52 or any other card in my MacBook pro? My internal card went out and I’ve got a box of r52 xr2 you name it. What problems would occur and what limitations?

It will work if your OS recognize it. Work with windows because it has drivers, but I don’t know mac os.

R52 isn’t the same as XR2. XR2 it’s more difficult to work because needs more power.

That’s what I was wondering is if anyone had any insight on whether or not Mac OS X would recognize it and if the 15" Macbook Pro could power a R52 or any other cards. I know it’s an off the wall question, but I thought it’s better suited in a Mikrotik forum as opposed to a Mac forum.

Anyone ever try to put a R52 in their laptop?

R52 is using the AR5414 chipset (it’s written in the brochure), also known as AR5006XS. Google gave me this interesting discussion:

the RouterBOARD “R” wireless cards are designed for RouterOS and RouterBOARD. If you manage to get it working in Windows/Linux/MacOS - bravo, but it’s not guaranteed.
