Would there be any reason to still buy R52’s now that R52N is available ? I’ve had a quick look at the receive gain etc and doesn’t seem any reason not to use R52N even if using A,B,G.
Only thing I’m not sure about is bugs / stability etc.
May be it’s a problem to use the card with no Antenna connected to
the second port? Other non N cards are reported to blow up if you
enable them with no Antenna connected for a while.
I think the R52n might be a worthy replacement for the R52H but not the R52.
The R52 is about $10 cheaper than the new R52n and is well known and tested as a very reliable card.
The R52n has specs that are closer to the R52H and it is about $10 cheaper. And one can hope for improved ESD performance with the newer design.
I am comparing them only as 802.11a/b/g cards. Obviously n is another feature but only if you are talking to other n radios preferably with dual antennas.
