R52Hn & RB711-5HnD - Big difference in rx sensivity

Hi !

I just wanted to have confirmed, that a 711 board really is way less sensitive than a R52Hn card, even if its the same chipset & manufacturer.

At 5 GHz
R52Hn has a rx senivity of 802.11a: –97 dBm @ 6Mbps to -80 dBm @ 54 Mbps

R711-5* has a rx senivity of 802.11a: –92 dBm @ 6Mbps to -76 dBm @ 54 Mbps

that means that you loss 4-5 dB sensivity when using the integrated board in comparision to the single card. thats a lot. can you confirm that ? (meaning I’ll stay at using the cards for senders)

Greeting Maria

What was your noise floor for each?

I’ve had a few links like that, different values for different cards, exact same performance, even some of the same quirks with weather related issues.

What version of RouterOS?

I was JUST quoting the technical details from the mikrotik data sheets on the mikrotik website. so mikrotik says “rb 711” has a worse receiving sensitivity over R52Hn - and I wanted to have that confirmed.

Ooops.

I can say this about the RB711 5H (no D), I get better signal that the calculators say I should. Zero problems, up since April of 2010.
