Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I just purchased a new R52N card and upgraded my OS to the 4.03 Beta.
During the configuration of the radio, I noticed that there was no 2.4GHZ - N option, only a 2 GHZ b/g/n option.
I selected the 2 GHZ option, and my Macbook Pro with a wireless N card connects with no problem, however my wifes computer (pc) with 802.11G, will not connect. I switched it back to the 2.4GHZ b/g option and it worked fine.
My question is, will the R52 N work with wireless G 24.GHZ computers? If so, how do I configure that.
make sure your security settings in the PC match those of your Mac and the router. The key could be mistyped, or there could be some other setting needed. If that’s windows, how old is it? Does it support WPA? AFAIK you need XP SP2 for it to be supported.
I do not believe it is anything with the encryption keys, because I can switch it back to 802.11 b/g without changing the encryption and it works fine. It just will not connect when I change it to the 802.11 b/g/n given all things equal. I have even disabled the encryption all together and it still will not connect.
I am going to see if I can find another computer to test. Not sure if it is isolated to this machine or not.
It definitely seems to be an issue with the Broadcom card in this unit. I have a machine I am rebuilding for my boss, and the linksys wireless card will connect with no issues.
