R52N half and quarter channels, how?

2 x 433 with R52N - v4.01rc1
XR2 cards in both routers are already running 1/4 channel and passing traffic fine.

I have a link I’m building on which I would like to try a half channel. I have everything working, and the slave registers just fine and passes traffic when I use 20 MHz channel width. No matter what permutaion of 1/2 or 1/4 I can not get them to register.

I have tried putting the ip in scan list and have just about exhausted possibilities. What’s the trick? Has anybody used these cards in a 433, v4.0rc1?

I’m going to have to put them into production at full bandwidth if I can’t figure this out.

Thanks,

MIke

I guess no response means it can’t be done, or nobody is doing it? I should think the MT cards would do it easier than the XR cards, but am probably mistaken. If there is anything I should try, or more info I can supply please let me know.

Best Regards,

Mike

I don’t know. I’ve not had this issue, however, I am not running v4 in anything other than basic testing right now.

v4rc1 is release candidate, just a step above beta. It may not be working properly.

What kind of link are you running? WDS or just AP/station?

I’ve had WDS do odd things when changing between 20/10/5Mhz channels.

I have tried the R52N on 5mhz & 10Mhz and my client unit couldn’t see the radio :S Both sides Rb433AH with a R52N & Xr5

Its weird because my Ubiquiti Bullet 5 shows up the AP with no problems on 5 & 10 Mhz but the unit with the XR5 doesnt :S

I am using dynamic WDS. The link works just fine with 20 MHz channel width. Just can’t see it when I switch to 5 or 10 MHz. I think I have everything set right, otherwise I wouldn’t be passing traffic with full channel setting, right?

Mike

Mike,

Does yours show up on 10mhz and 5mhz?

When I do a scan from the remote side it doesnt appear but as soon as I switch it back to 20mhz shows up straight away.

Cameron.

currently there are some problems with small channels using N cards, we are still researching how to fix this issue.

Yea its seems the other mikrotik units can’t pick them up on 10 and 5mhz, but all my Ubiquiti gear can see and connect just fine to the N cards on 5 & 10mhz

Same here. 20 MHz cahannels work fine. Fractional, it sees nothing.
