R52n interference handling

Hi,

I’ve tested dual channels over 600 m, and results are really disappointing. By dual channels, I mean two R52n cards plugged in RB433AH board at each end of the link, and each card working in SISO mode on separate WLAN channel. First channel is running at 5500 GHz, and the other one at 5700 GHz, and both are set to HT (40 MHz) channels.

Best combined throughput I got was 30% better than for the single channel link, but most of the time it was comparable to single channel link or even worse. For example, on the single channel link I’m getting 105-110 Mbps UDP throughput, and on the dual channel link I got very unstable 120-130 Mbps (combined), while for large portion of the time it was below 100 Mbps.

I suppose r52ns can’t cope with interference well, but I’m really surprised that 2 channels that are spaced almost 200 MHz apart produce so much interference to each other.

Did anyone try fighting interference between the channels with bandpass filters? Any luck?

Best regards
Zreno
