Hi, we came to a weird problem while testing 4 radio cards - a pair of R52n-M and a pair of Compex WLM200NX. We established a 100m test link with 24dBi MIMO antennas, got signals about -30dBm (lowered the TX power) on both sides, both chains. No interference at all - this is clear testing outdoor environment. Testing WLM-WLM, then R52nM-R52nM.
The problem was, we vere not able to run this link with 802.11 protocol (got 500kbps and less on BWtest, then reconnect). Using NStreme we got only about 15M/15M on BWtest and CCQ jumped from 30 to 80%, very unstable. Eventually the link would also disconnect.
However when we used Nv2, the link got CCQ 100% (both TX and RX), the data rate went to 130Mbps/130Mbps and we could do as much as 90Mbps HD, which is what we expected. The only thing I wonder about is why the hell 802.11 and NStreme protocols worked so bad? I checked polarities of antennas - matched. I checked pigtails - no problematic bends. Even tried to turn antenna to get worse signal (-60/-60) - had no effect.
Does Atheros AR9220 cards R52n-M and WLM200NX support only NV2 protocol on 2x2 MIMO??! Anybody came accross similar problem?
