I have configured a Radius server for backup accounting. This works ok
when the user is authenticated by radius, but not for local authentication.
say from ppp secrets, despite PPP AAA backup accounting being ticked.
Is this broken, or doesnt MT Radius implementation sending accounting
for ALL users regardless of whether they are locally authenticated or not.
It is annoying to loose accounting records if a particular AP crashes, but
if they’re backuped on on a central Radius server/SQL database then no
matter.. Works for all users on Cisco..
Rule of thum is that MikroTik is sending accounting data there where the authentication occured.
I.e. local user authentication => local accounting (only)…
