I am using mikrotik x86 & device as radius Client connected to DMA Radius, users are complaining that when connected via radius they are experiencing bandwidth fluctuation instead of DMA radius, if UserManager been used users are working fine.
The Main idea of using DMA Radius was to have centralized control over multiple Mikrotik’s CLIents
I have deployed many DMA installations. There is no performance difference for bandwidth using DMA , userman or whatever radius you uses. Its upto your NAS/Mikrotik who maintain bandwidth management. DMA is just a radius, it can send bandwidth attributes, rest is done by your NAS,Mikrotik.
and yes DMA have lot more features then userman because its a dedicated billing solution based on Linux and it can act as a centralized billing system for your all branches mikrotik’s.
I am using the latest versions of routeros, in which mainly the complaints are been observed.
