RAM's free memory drops continuously

Hello.

When I did an routine check am my mikrotik router resources from Winbox, I saw that the RAM’s free space decrese continuously.
The mikrotik router is running on Pentium 3 1Ghz processor,256 RAM.
I must do an restart of the machine for re-estabilishing the free memory state.
I have applied a proxy cache with 1GB space on HDD.
Is this the reason that memory of RAM decrease continously?

Or, you can tell us MT version, net cards, how much up-time, what mb, and more…
And you get help.

MT version might be the most important item. Do a search on the forum, for beta’s and proxy, and see why.

Hello.

Firstly I want to thank you for replying to me.

My MT version is 2.9.27
My ethernet cards are 3com 3c59x & intel pro/100
The RAM is 256MB 133Mhz
Ram goes down from 240MB free till some kilos within a day.

I don’t know what to tell more about my router.

Change the 3com card, i changed more than ten on several locations with intel cards, for various specific problems, and update to change the behaviour of the proxy.
Also might want to limit the memory used by the proxy, and/or use web-proxy-test package.

Upgrade. Look at the release notes, there are lots of memory leak and resource usage fixes since .27.

turn on graphing for cpu and memory so you visually see how it’s decreasing. update the forums with that picture after you’ve upgraded and let it run for a while.

In which version I must Upgrade my MT OS?
