Random router lock ups

I am trying to get some info a problem my company is seeing.

We have had several 493’s randomly lock up on us. To free the devices a tech is required to visit the site where the router is located and physically reboot the device. At some of the sites where the problem is more persistent we have the router attached to a POE injector that allows to remotely power cycle the router to bring the device back online.

What I want to know is, has any one else seen this issue? What was your solution? Is it documented some where what will cause a router to lock up this way?

The router in question is a 493AH running 5.20.

Any info would help a lot.

We only have a hand full of 493ah routers in production. I have not seen any lockups. I have had other models lockup from heat though. You can write the log to disk to possibly get an idea. ALS it should generate an auosupout file that can e loaded into mikrotik’s site to analyze.

Thanks joshaven for the reply. At one of our sites where we are seeing the issue the UPS there did report temperature warnings that lined up with the router locking up. Though 24 hrs after the incident the router would still lock with out any warning or other issue reported.

I will keep this in mind though
