Old question here, but I can’t find a solution that works for my case..
I have a request to set up a simple mini WISP solution for up to 100 odd users. Something that is simple to manage. User Manager fulfills all the requirements bar the ability to shape users once they have reached their allocated data allowance.
What I have found is that even the latest test build of UM doesn’t support this, nor CoA requests using pppoe. There are a few scripts around the place that can shape users based on data, but no solutions integrating with UM - also if the router is reset, all the counters are reset.
Apart from not using rate-shaping at all, what are some other ideas? I don’t care if the users get disconnected and have to reconnect. Any ideas welcome, nothing is set in concrete, this is just in the planning phase.
