Rate limiting in WISP System

We’re planning to extend our WISP network using 60GHz kit (CubeSA 60Pro ac and Cube 60Pro ac) and I’ve been doing some tests on the bench. All works fine with 60 GHz/5GHz backup etc. but I am having difficulty restricting the data rates for customers. I have tried to use queues (downstream on the AP and upstream on the stations) but it seems to have no effect. I just set up the IP address of the customer and the rates in the queue settings.

I haven’t used queues before so I reckon I must be missing something. Any suggestions?

Why you do not use something like PPPoE?

You mean PPPoE, RADIUS and AAA for rate limiting? I expect we will one day but at the moment we don’t.

Is it impossible to use some form of rate limiting with these radios? If possible, it’s best to do the upstream limiting in the client radio to keep packets off the radio link that might be discarded. Downstream limiting should be done in the AP or further upstream.

I suspect that it is just a question of enabling some bare-bones routing or switching functions and then enabling queuing. Is that right?

I hope someone can help.
