Yeah it is older, but working without a problem!
But looking at upgrading from OS 3.23.routerOS to 4.17
Router output (things hidden to protect the guilty):
[admin@Router] /system> license print
software-id: "***-PTT"
upgradable-to: v4.x
nlevel: 6
features:
[admin@Router] /system> routerboard print
routerboard: yes
model: "1000"
serial-number: "*****"
current-firmware: "2.18"
upgrade-firmware: "2.18"
Do I also need to upgrade the firmware BEFORE upgrading the routerOS?

Upgrade to 3.30, log in and update the license via “/system license”, then upgrade t0 4.17, upgrade the firmware.
OK, so where do I get 3.30 to start to upgrade?
you don’t need v3.30
email support and they will update the license for you, and you will be able to directly upgrade to v5.2
Really off of the deatils I have posted?
I am used to upgrading in stages…Only because this is production RB1000.
there is no difference between upgrading in stages, or not. actually, upgrading in stages adds more risk in case there is some problem in the inbetween versions.
Awesome to hear, as I have 5.2 at home and it is powerfull stuff!
