We have a problem and can not identify, we have a 1100 RB RouterOS V. 5:20 doing PPPOE authentication, 200 simultaneous users.
We use a check where our need to make a SSH server, however within two days it does not happen again, I can not open terminal or internal. The RB does not lock but does not run over SSH.
Could you help me?
I have the same problem (no PPPoE, but over 150 PPTP users, 10-20 simultaneously active). 2-3 days uptime everything is OK, then terminal and ssh stop working.
What most amazed me, I wanted to generate supout file to attach to support mail, and just after clicking âMake supout.rifâ in Winbox everything immediately went back to normal. Do this: open terminal window, observe that it doesnât work then click âMake supout.rifâ. The prompt appears after 1-2 sec, and subsequent terminal windows are most of the time ok â however after 14 or more days of uptime that hack may not help.
And the reboot can be fragile too, it can panic during reboot.
I just upgraded my router from 5.18 to 5.21 and I cannot connect to my router via SSH anymore. It was working perfectly fine for years before the upgrade. Now, I only get following error on my SSH client
ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
For some reason, I havenât noticed that the security package has not been upgraded! So, I uploaded it again, and now no more problems with the ssh connection.
So, check that the security package is still there after an upgrade. And I 100% sure I did upload it before upgrading from 5.18 to 5.21.
Checked, and every affected router has all packages versions 5.21. I donât upload each package separately, but use one .npk file to upgrade all at once.
From some strange reason npk for 5.21 does not install security package.
workaround: install security package from zip file.
upgrade from 5.20 to 5.21
X86 system
other packages where not installed as well.
