RB 112 and Older Teletronics

Ok - I am a veteran MT user both in wireless and ‘standard’ routers. I’ve RTM.

That being said - I have an older Teletronics (TT) AP w/a Prism 11Mbps 200mw card in it. The LAN side is connected to a T-1. I have 5 other types of radios connected to the Teletronics AP. I am trying to connect a RB112 w/a SR2 using 128 (104bit) WEP. The RB 112 absolutey refuses to connect to the Teletronics AP - error - with an ambiguous error - non-specific error (1)… What the heck is a non-specific error??

Back to the task at hand - I have the TT AP in WEP shared key 128 bit mode - 13 hex pairs of numbers - I used two other brands of radios and have had no difficulty in connecting to the TT AP. The RB112 has 2.9.35 OS and 2.5 firmware installed.

So the question becomes why won’t the RB112 connect? I checked, re-checked the WEP code - I even setup a temp AP with the same WEP code (I used a RB532) and the RB112 connected right up… But it will not connect to the TT AP.

Anyone out there tried this and made it work?

Just for those of you going - ohh this guy is using WEP…tsk, tsk, well everything over this link is VPN so not to worry…

Make sure that you use “open system authentication”, not “shared key
authentication”, on your AP. MT clients only connect using “open system
authentication” method. You can still use your WEP with that.

Also enable wireless, debug logs to see more where connection fails.
If that doesn’t help, make the support output file and send it to us.

Ok - I changed the TT AP over to ‘Open System’ authentication. Still does not allow the RB112 to associate.

I’ve enable the wireless debug logging. I’ll try and get a support file on to my ‘thumb’ drive and send it out…

Anyone else have any ideas in the mean time?
