I installed 6.32.4 MIPSLE on my RB 112 using Winbox and now I can’t connect it at all. Tried to Netinstall it, but the reset button won’t work - I run the Netinstall (net boot, ip…, according to manual)
THEN:
1.Hold on Reset button;
2.power on the RouterBOARD;
3.wait until ACT link will start to blink, hold on reset;
4.ACT LED should stop to blink, release the button;‘’
But nothing happen - Just the blue and red LED start lighting, then it beeps, the red stops lighting and nothing more happen no matter how long I hold the button.
If it works… (ok, it doesn’t now, but hopefully for OP it’s just temporary).
I think there used to be a warning on download page about old mipsle devices with only 16MB RAM being unsupported by RouterOS 6.x. So trying 6.32.4 probably wasn’t the best idea.
On the upside, RB112 has serial port, so you can connect using serial console and see what happens there.
So, I bought USB to serial, port works fine (even the parameteres of port are set correctly: 115200bit/s, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, flow control=none by default), the same on Hyperterminal, then I connect the board, plug in DC and NOTHING happen. Am I skipping something or the board just went wrong?
my router cant open! the serial not working and the reset button not working too! like the 1st post! i cant use netistall! after 15 minutes some times i can get into winbox with mac address! but the cpu is 100% and when i go to transfer the old ros 5.26 the winbox get out me and the router restarts!
(sorry for my bad english)
help me!
If you have some other RB to test with, make sure that serial cable works with that, i.e. if you have the right one. If nothing works, but you’re able to connect to running system, try to first disable all packages except “system”. Then hopefully on next restart it might behave a little better. The main problem of RB112 is small RAM, so every byte saved by something not running should help.
