Hello I have a RB 1200 that originally carried the version 5.x of the Router Os, but to test with another version of the Router Os gave him donwgrade to the version 4.17, and since do not have access to the RB; I have looked for informacion in the forum and now I know that the donwgrade in this case is bad idea; and indicate that with netinstall can recover the RB but have tried and scores me the following error CHECK ETHERNET WIRE / ETHERNET LINK ABSENT; I have read more the forum and saw informacion where indicate that updating the FIRMWARE can recover the RB, try it but when doing it goes out me another error, annex some images for a better view. rb1200 dont work with 4.17. Use netinstall and upgrade to 5.11

I know that the RB 1200 don´t work with the router os 4.x, and I know that I need reinstall using netinstall, in my post say that, but my problem is when conect serial cable and use hyperterminal the hyperterminal say error CHECK ETHERNET CABLE / ETHERNET LINK ABSENT, and I try upgrade firmware with serial cable, this not possible and say me other error… this is my true problem and need help for this.. Thanks (sorry for my english)
Use ether10 port on RB1200 to connect to Netinstall and make sure RB1200 is in the same broadcast domain where the Netinstall PC.
Hi becs you are right, I connect the ethernet cable in the ethernet 10 port of de RB 1200 and netinstall working, I can install the router os 5.11 archives on the RB 1200; I use individual archives of de router os 5.11 because when I try install the individual archive of system called “routeros-powerpc-5.11.npk”, the procedure not work in the netistall… now after the rebooting I can´t access the RB via WIN BOX… What happend?
