RB 4011 is fanless?
Can I use it on towers during summer?
Yes, it is fanless, but it’s not an outdoor device, it is not waterproof.
Are we likely to get a (proper) rackmount model, similar to 3011? Or will only the desktop model with big ugly ears remain? The 3011’s are a really nice presentable case to put in a customers rack.
not in near future. there are other devices that have rack cases
If I could get an 1100 with an SFP/SFP+ port I’d be happy haha, was thinking of the 4011 to start replacing our 1100AHx4 fleet if it came in a respectable case (With dual power)
You need proper rack, proper router and SFP+, and fitted inside a rack, it means you no longer need to look in the “Home” device section.

You’d call RB1100AHx4 a Home router? But in any case I can appreciate that, for us though the ~60% price difference from RB1100AHx4 to CCR1009 isnt justified by our want for SFP+ port (at this time), this is why i was thinking 4011 could be a good middle-ground if it came in a comparable configuration to RB1100 (ie. rackmount and dual power), but not everyone can be satisfied otherwise you’d have too many SKU’s!
