RB 411 ETH1 problem

Hi All.

I have a problem with the Routerboard 411, I turn off by accident lan port on the Routerboard.
How I can put this thing back to live?
I read about the Null modem cable but I already connect two of them and they don`t work :confused:

I found as well button on the ruterboard it self named S301 and the manual is saying the button reset the system, but what exactly this button is doing? Does hi reset the OS to Default setting as is the Factory Settings, or does erase whole flash withe the system?

Any Ideas?

Hey,

If you can’t get your Null Modem interface to work, you’ll have to either log in by Wireless (which I assume is also not working) or Reset the system.

The reset just puts RouterOS back to Default settings - It doesn’t wipe RouterOS off.

I was reading the manual and I found the message that the Serial Port i turned off by default. Is that Right?

krigevr - according to your response if I press the Button S301 for few seconds on running routerboard Ill get the Default settings and Ill be again able to log in by the WinBox?

Try and make your own null modem cable (so that you don’t loose your setup).

You need this:
2x female 9pol d-sub connecters
1x 0,5-1m of cable.

You then sodder like this:
(connectors called A and B)
A - B
5 - 5
3 - 2
2 - 3

and done.
