hi, recently i buy a rb 433uah. my question is the next.
to use the Web-Cache. isn’t recomend use the nand flash (512mb onboard) i think that limit the quantity of write and read of the nand memory.
it will be better with the memory Micro SD, but exist 2 tipe.
MicroSD 2 GB and MicroSDHC 16Gb
wich can i buy? MicroSD or MicroSDHC?
in the RB exist two port USB (2.0 and 1.1)
can i conect usb 32GB or better in these port and used to web-cache??
please i dont now what buy,
two USB 32GB with Micro sd 2GB or MicroSDHC 16Gb
what is the recomendation??
what do you think about this?
i speak spanish, im new in the RouterOS.
Thx for all
Hi.
I’m looking at doing a similar thing for my RB450G.
There are two things to note. The manual says that the RB433UAH has a microSD slot. . .
http://www.routerboard.com/pdf/rb433UAH.pdf
That means that a microSDHC card will not work. The HC for SD cards stands for High Capacity and needs to have special hardware to enable.
Additionally the manual on web proxy says that you need a certain amount of ram per mb of cache. Actually they give an example of . . .
Allowing for 64MB of Router OS memory usage one can have 936MB of Memory Available for Cache.
Full article found http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2.9/ip/webproxy_content.php#7.53.2 .
The RB433UAH has 126MB ram so you could have 1872MB cache on the RB433UAH which is perfect because that is the normal upper limit for microSD cards anyway!
There is also another link that shows you how to set up the cache, pretty easy article actually.

Hope that helps.

I just purchased a SanDisk 4GB MicroSDHC card and it won’t work on my 433uah…back to USB for cache store.

add this model with it’s code to the wiki page table, so others don’t buy the same card. you can use it in your phone of somewhere else
